Routledge Series on Paradiplomacy and City Diplomacy

Professor Tomasz Kamiński, Chair of the Paradiplomacy Lab, has become a co-editor of a new Routledge series dedicated to paradiplomacy and city diplomacy.

The Routledge Series on Paradiplomacy and City Diplomacy explores the growing importance of local governments – such as cities and regions –in international relations, challenging the traditional, state-centric model of diplomacy. Through this series, we will present research showing how local and regional authorities engage in international cooperation, shape global policy, and address global issues such as climate change and migration.

We invite submissions on the following topics:

  • Theoretical and empirical studies in paradiplomacy and city diplomacy
  • Case studies highlighting the changing roles of cities and regions in international relations
  • Various roles of local governments in shaping international policy
  • Practical aspects of paradiplomacy from the perspective of involved politicians and officials
  • New trends and future directions in paradiplomacy

The series aims to showcase paradiplomacy from an interdisciplinary perspective, bringing together experts from fields such as international relations, political science, federalism, urban studies, and international law.
